Floral clashing print is one of the strongest trends seen on the high street for S/S 14. The trend features bright colours and sharp crisp floral repeat patterns, adding another dimension to the typical pastel pallet girly take on the trend. We love the versatile nature of this trend, with the “season’s floral encompassing the whole range from pastel pretty to techno sport that make an irresistible motif for spring,” Alexander Shulman, Vogue’s editor.
High end Designers such as H&M’s recent design show competition winner, Eddy Anemian, have portrayed the trend with geometric shapes and bold colours. High street retailers such as Zara have kept this injection of colour with their designs with affordable items such as the combination printed top, £39.99. Zara have also toned down the colour pallet for the working woman, with its chic flower print dress. The beauty of this trend is there are no set rules – and each retailer has portrayed it with its own style, from Missguided’s girlie backpack to Topshop’s holiday inspired printed jumper.
